Calorie counter with badges, streaks and a meal plan
Counting calories works when you keep doing it. Most people do not stop because the numbers are hard; they stop because logging starts to feel like a chore. Small rewards for showing up, a look back at what went well and a plan for the week make the habit easier to keep.
Badges that reward the habit
Grammi gives badges for things you do: days logged, a streak of logging days, days you reach your own protein goal, days close to your calorie target, your water goal, workout days from Apple Health, different plants in one week, weigh-ins, meals logged and rounds of the daily game. Each badge has five tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.
The badges reward what you do, not what the scale says. There is no badge for weight lost, so a slow week on the scale never takes anything away.
In Grammi: every Bronze badge is free, and the first one can come on your first day. Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond come with Grammi Pro. A new tier gets a short celebration, and any badge can be shared as a card.
A page of what went well this week
The Achievements page, one swipe to the right of Today, shows the last seven days in a positive light: how many days you logged, the days you reached your protein goal, the days close to your calorie target, how many different plants you ate and the day you ate the most protein. Days you missed are not counted against you.
In Grammi: this week’s page is free; looking back at past weeks comes with Pro.
Plan the week and shop once
A plan takes decisions out of busy evenings. In the meal plan you pick saved recipes and saved meals for the next seven days. Each day adds up against that day’s target, including separate training and rest day targets if you use them, and the shopping list builds itself from the ingredients, with repeated items counted.
In Grammi: the meal plan and shopping list are part of Pro, with a 7-day free trial.
Progress photos that stay private
The scale moves slowly and the mirror is easy to doubt. A photo every week or two, in the same spot and light, shows change side by side.
In Grammi: progress photos are stored only on your iPhone, not in your photo library, and are never uploaded. Adding and comparing photos is part of Pro; photos you already took stay viewable.
What stays free
Logging every meal, barcode scanning with no daily limit, goals, weight, water, streaks, Bronze badges, this week’s page and the daily calorie game are free for good, with no ads and no account. Here is how to count calories for free.
